Assane Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
No ads, no ad or attribution SDKs, and no selling of your data.
What we store
Recipes, folders, grocery lists and tags you save. If you sign in with Apple, your Apple account identifier and, if you share it, your email address. A count of imports per month and your subscription status.
What is sent for processing
When you import, the link, text or photo you chose goes to our server. Text and photos are sent to Anthropic to extract the recipe, and are not kept by us after extraction. When you import from Instagram or TikTok, your phone reads the public caption and sends only that text. No video or audio is read from those platforms. If you choose to import a video from your own phone, that file goes through our server to Deepgram for transcription. We do not keep it.
Recipe photos
Adding your own photo needs an account. It is stored privately with Supabase so it can appear on your signed-in devices. Only your account can load it, and people you share a recipe with do not see it. A photo you replace or discard may stay in storage until your account is deleted. Deleting your account removes your photos. Other photos are loaded from the site that published the recipe, and that site can see your IP address when your phone requests one. If a site blocks our server, your phone opens the page itself and sends us only its recipe data and text.

Your choices
Everything works on your phone without an account. Export all recipes from Settings at any time, on any plan. Deleting your account in Settings removes your data from our servers and your phone. A subscription must be cancelled separately in your Apple account.
Reports
If you report shared content, we store the report, your account and the item reported so we can review it.
